Hello Wii Fit lovers and those are not sure if you love Wii Fit yet,

We, Wii lovers need to be challenged, so here it is!!!
This will help to keep us motivated, challenged and accountable during these long soon to come winter months. I know there are plenty of balance boards that need a little dusting off. That little Mii is just screaming to be woken up.

So come on guys lets all get on board and get fit.

Heres the challenge:

Get a routine that includes: Yoga, Strength Training, Aerobics, Balance Games.

Do a variety of exercises for at least 15 minutes a day

Record what you have done and share it here daily

This is a personal challenge, so
try to increase your time and try beat your own record.

You can use any routines, feel free to use the one that I do, just copy and paste to your reply. Share your own routines with us,we can all use new ideas. You might help inspire someone else to try something new or to get going again with their own routines.

You can do the same routine for a week or two or you can change it up every day, just don't forget to share it with us.
Don't forget to take the full body test to find what you Wii fit age is, record your weight and BMI. I love getting that star on my calendar don't you?

I plan to share some Wii tips regularly and if you have any tips please we are interested in knowing, what you know!

Okay, lets go and have a WII bit of fun!!!

Beverley, GREAT IDEA!!! Thanks for coming up with this. It'll be great to share Wii tips.

Today, Mii Wii (my alter ego) did the Slalom Skiing several times for balance (something I need very badly), the Chair Pose several times (for core strength, something else I need very badly), the Tree Pose a couple of times (again for balance), two or three rounds of the Basic Step, two rounds of the Basic Run (incorporating my mini-tramp), and the Lotus Focus for a closer. I didn't pay attention to how much time the Wii logged me at, I just know that I spent an hour from the time I started until I finished.

I hope more folks join us in this venture. I know there are quite a few Wiis out there in the Neighborhood. This is a great time for us Northern Hemisphere folks to get them dusted off and start using them. Those of you in the Southern Hemisphere can stow them away, if you want, in favor of dusting off the walking shoes and staffs. smile.gif

I have just bought my wii and wii fit plus with Jullian Michaels. I will set it up on the weekend.

Vivian you got it wrong my love. Those of us in the southern hemisphere want the wii so we can exercise in airconditioned comfort when it is a 110degrees. I love the fact I can use my aerofit under the aircon vent. Stewy moved it into my bedroom last weekend.

Lookout with my aerofit and wii I will be superfit!!!

Now can someone tell me how to hook the wii up to my TV. Just joking.

So glad you ladies are joining me in this challenge laughing-smiley-011.gif I'm excited to get on the board and do something other than just check my BMI and Weight!!! laughing-smiley-011.gif

Catsroomie, tell me more about using the mini tramp and the basic run, do you just jump/jog on the tramp with the Wi remote in your hand?

Sareena, there is no way I will let you get lost in the crowd wub.gif I know that feeling, i've done the same thing, this time its going to be different! I'll come after ya....I know where you hang out!

Gwenda, I have an areofit too, I wont tell you where it is or what I use it for LOL.

Lets have a Wii bit of Fitness fun!!

Ooh, I'm glad to see other folk joining us here.

Sareena, I'm not actually thinking of this as a Challenge. I'm just looking at it more as a place to come and share our Wii Fit experiences. A place to encourage each other and offer tips and suggestions. So don't worry about getting lost. Just come and post when you can. There's no pressure. Just friends chatting over a cup of coffee or tea. smile.gif (When I first wrote that last sentence, I put "catting" instead of "chatting". Had a good laugh at that!)

Beverley, I put the Wii controller in the front pocket of my shorts. It seems to register my movement. It also says you can hold it in your hand if you don't have pockets.

Gwenda, I totally understand your logic. It doesn't get as hot here in the Summer as it does where you're at, but thinking about using the Wii in the house next Summer with the A/C on has a lot of appeal. This time of year we tend to forget, but lots of days it is too hot here to go out and walk. I can't take the dogs out in the afternoons 'cause the ground burns their feet. Shucks! This means I won't have any excuses now for not exercising Winter or Summer!! Huh!!

Mii Wii didn't get out today. We spent all day at the hospital with a friend and by the time we got home, I was totally pooped. Tomorrow is another day. (The hospital thing was just for a test - she wasn't ill or anything.)

I think this maybe a day of rest for the Wii, I just spent more than an hour outside raking leaves and they were wet so that is twice as much of a workout then it would be if they were dry Attached File  bc7853005dfb3722.jpg (4.87K)

I did the Wii tonight, I decided to do a Free Run, I did a total of 40 minutes.

The Wii said I did a total of 6.382 miles. I had my pedometer on and it said total of 4993 steps 2.364 miles and 134.8 cal burned. All I really know is that I worked up a sweat and I feel great. When you unlock the Free Run or Free Step you can watch TV at the same time so its kind of a distraction from what you are doing.

Beverley, how did you like using the mini-tramp with the Wii? I can't run "for real" 'cause it hurts my knees and ankles. I'm also very clumsy and afraid I'll trip and fall on my face. On the flip side, I really dislike jogging in place. Soooo, that's why I decided to try the Wii/Mini-Tramp combo. I find it works for me to a T.

And now, it's 'fess up time. After missing Thursday 'cause of the hospital trip, I also missed Friday. As I explained in the FWAC thread, I just succumbed to my inherent laziness on Friday. An embarrassing admission, but true. So, Mii Wii and my trainer were pretty peeved at me when I showed up this morning. smile.gif I got with it as soon as I got up this morning 'cause I was afraid that I wouldn't do it if I waited until later. I'm gonna try to keep scheduling it for morning and see if that will keep me more consistent.

So, this morning I did some balancing exercises, the basic step three times, I think, then got on the mini-tramp and went for the "long" basic run which I had opened up last time I was on. I'm not sure how long that run is, but I ran for 25 minutes or so, I believe. All in all, I spent about 45 minutes total including the Yoga Focus with which I end my workouts. Today's run opened something called the "Island Run", I believe. I'm looking forward to taking that one tomorrow after I complete my balancing and stepping.

I'll say one thing for the Wii, it certainly won't give you a big head by over praising you. Today it told me that I'd lost 2.5# since my last visit!!! Excitement!! Then it told me that last time I'd weighed was at 10 at night and it was now 9 in the morning and it's possible to gain as much as 2# during the day from eating and drinking. Disappointment!! It gives with one breath and takes away with the next. Hee hee

Well, here's planning to take Mii Wii out for a spin again in the morning. Need to keep that gal busy. smile.gif Hugs, fellow Wiiers!

p.s. Beverly, I love your tag line for this thread: "Lets have a Wii bit of Fitness fun!!" Very appropriate!!
