It has been a long while since I have visited the board. My original name was s. fletcher, but when the board was overhauled awhile ago I had to change my login name cause I had trouble logging in, thus I am now Stacey 71.... Anyway I have been trying since March 2007 to have WLS and have decided on lapband surgery. After the painstaking process of choosing a surgery and then jumping through ins. hoops, I finally made it! I was beginning to think this day would never come. I will be undergoing lapband surgery with Dr. Patricia Choban at Mt. Carmel Hospital in Columbus, Ohio on Sept. 10th!!!! WHOOHOO!

Deb, I was born and raised in Ohio. A buckeye is a big dk brown Nut type thing, that grows from a tree, a buckeye tree. Its beautiful really, the color of mohogany. BUT before you can see the "nut" part, it is incased in a pale green "shell" that has very prickely little spikes all over it. When they fall from the tree and dry the "shell" dries and opens, revealing the "nuts inside" (usually 2 per shell) If I remember correctly, the nut is like 1" by 1.5". I haven't seen a buckeye or buckeye tree since I was a kid.

"Just do the next right thing!"
My first goal is 199 lbs. It has been over 18 years since I've been in ONEderland!
My full goal & progress: 270 lbs day of surgery

Hey we even have buckeye's in Minnesota. I love the prickly green shell and then the beautiful nut!
We blew one up in the microwave once for some reason I don't remember.
